For our Business Development Team, located in Rossens (FR) Switzerland, we are looking for a :

SALES APPLICATION ENGINEER

As a Sales Application Engineer, your mission will be to:

  • Represent link for technical aspects (e.g. specifications, tests) between customers, partners and CONDIS engineering and Business development department
  • Inform and present to the CONDIS respective about trends of applications by customers
  • Guarantee customers technical support for CONDIS metering & protection portfolio such as voltage dividers or Low-Power Instrument Transformers (LPIT) (pre- and after-sales, service). The field integration of CONDIS solutions of LPIT for digital substations requests the mastering of Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED) and the latest standards for communication in electrical substation automation systems according the IEC 61850 standard
  • Take a leading role for customer projects and take responsibilities for a well working product in the field at customer-site
  • Find domain/market for new applications in which CONDIS products and solutions can be applied

Main Responsibilities

  • Identifying / understanding customers applications and products requirements
  • Follow-up sales project with our partners and internally
  • Supporting Marketing technical request
  • Follow up the quality issues claimed by customer (especially by problems on the field (or on the equipment during test) and by new special claims (1st case of problem)
  • Managing customers’ technical specifications
  • Supporting new products introduction at customers end
  • Complete assigned technical tasks in a timely, accurate, legible, and organized manner
  • Act as the bridge between technical teams at customers, project partners and CONDIS internally in order to make such kind of technical or quality communication channel smoother and more efficient
  • Resolve technical issues concerning the digital metering and protection products (LPIT), related applications, specification confirmation, quality inspection and technical agreement renewal negotiations

Requirements

  • Electrical, electronical or software engineering bachelor degree
  • Relevant professional experience in substation automation and protection, instrument transformers or related topics. 3 years of previous professional experience with IEDs, control & protection devices. Experience with instrument-transformers as an asset
  • Experience with substation equipment on primary and/or secondary side from either end user or supplier point of view
  • English, mandatory; German and/or French an asset
  • Willingness to travel

 Desired knowledge/experience

  • IEC 61850 standard for communication networks and systems for power utility automation, ideally with parts IEC 61850-9-2 and IEC 61850-8-1, including but not limited to:
    • Sampled values measurement (SVM)
    • Substation Configuration Language (SCL)
    • Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS)
    • Generic Object-Oriented Substation Event (GOOSE)
